Shop til ya drop

So Tony and I had an adventure today! We went to a fairly large mall near our school. I have to tell you, it was mighty crowded! The whole back-to-school crowd was there, which was extremely depressing from my point of view. But anyway, back to the joy of shopping!
What I have discovered from my shopping trip was that JCPenney is like amazing! First of all, almost everything in the store is marked down! Like no joke. I got blank% off or blank$ off or buy 1 get 1 on literally everything I purchased. Also, they have really really cute things in both the junior's and women's departments. I highly recommend going there for your back-to-school or fall shopping needs! Here are some of my favorite brands that they carry:
This is the line that the Olsen twins released for JCPenney. Its really cute! Plus I have an unhealthy obsession with their style!
A really cool brand with a bohemian vibe to it.
Mango is a higher end brand that released a line for JCPenney.
I can't wait to feature my new JCPenney clothing here on Chic or Something. Stay tuned!

update finally! I'm not abandoning my blog!

Wow! I'm not letting this blog go, but unfortunately my photographer (boyfriend) has been out of town for the past few weeks. Luckily, he will be back soon and I will be back posting outfits and what not, which is what I really like doing. Also, I have some new clothes (because I am a hopeless shopping addict) that I am very excited about displaying on chicorsomething. In the meantime, I am really into the long a flowy stuff that seems to be popular lately. I have yet to purchase anything of this style, but I am currently working on finding some things that I really like that are also in my price range. Here are some items that I've been looking at lately that I really like.
I figured I would start with my favorite, which also happens to be the most expensive! This the UNIF Leopard Dream Maxi Dress which can be purchased at NASTY GAL.
These are the Fawcett Fights Back Black Wide Leg Pants from LuLu's.
This is the Irish Moorlands Pleated Green Maxi Skirt also from LuLu's.
This is the Volcom To The Floor Maxi Skirt from PacSun.

Being a small girl of only 5'3" I have always been intimidated by full length items, but they are just too darn chic to ignore any longer. What do you guys think of this style? Sorry about the blogging hiatus, but do not fear because I will be making my comeback VERY soon! Hope you all enjoy this post!

Dangerously Curious

I am writing today to say that I am dangerously curious about pixie haircuts. I've been thinking about them a lot but every time I imagine myself getting one I think about what I will look like and I feel happy, but then I think about the idea of actually chopping off my hair and I start to feel...quite frankly sick to my stomach!
I don't want you to think that I'm one of those girls who is attached to their hair; I'm not! In fact, I have had my hair cut quite short in the past. I rocked a bob-ish do in high school and loved it. There are a few reasons why I decided to grow it out (and keep it long) which I will list now:
1) As a varsity athlete, and some one who is working out a lot, keeping my hair in a good ponytail length was essential.
2) I had short hair for several years and I always like to change back and forth, so growing it out seemed like the next step.
3) Since I have had it long I have fallen in love with braiding and styling my hair in different ways.
4) The final and most pathetic reason is that when I met my boyfriend he always talked about how he loves my long, brown hair.
But still, I can't help but imagining what it would be like to have one of these short hairdos. They look so chic! Here are some of my favorite celebrity pixie cuts:
Ashlee Simpson
Emma Watson
Natalie Portman
I think that these women just look so cute! Women with pixie cuts naturally exude Audrey Hepburn qualities, which I find to be just so chic. What do you guys think of these haircuts? I have a hunch that most men reading this will say that it is not the look they prefer, but what do the ladies think? Would you have the guts to take the plunge and chop it all off?

DIY and other stuff

So I found this really awesome DIY tutorial for scarves made out of t-shirts on stumbleupon. Its from college fashion, here's the link:

I'm like really terrible at sewing so I try to avoid DIYs with a lot of sewing involved. This one had zero sewing involved so of course I had to try it and here are my results:

The shirt I used was $5 at Dollar General, but of course you can use any t-shirt you wish. The tank top I'm wearing is from Free People.
In other news, I have a new shoes crush. And I am really crushing hard because I will probably never actually buy these because of the price tag. Maybe they will go on sale one day *sigh*. The worst part is I've been seeing them everywhere lately. Well, here they are, the very beautiful Jeffrey Campbell Litas:
Aren't they just gorgeous? And finally, if you all are interested in a laugh check out Who Wears this Shit. It's an awesome and hilarious blog written by my best friend, Abby. She points out the questionable items that are being produced by far too many brands these days. Too funny.
Hope everyone had a good weekend!
