Happy Holidays!

blouse: from amazon
sweater: necessary clothing
jeans: pacsun
shoes: Steve Madden
jewelery: forever 21

Happy holidays everyone! I am finally off from school and I cannot be happier to relax and have fun with my friends and family. I had a really tough semester at school and it feels so good to have a break. Today was my sisters birthday and I went out to lunch with her and had a wonderful time. After that we spent the day relaxing and my dad made a lovely dinner (raviolis yum!).

I found out about necessary clothing from another blog I read regularly call somethingnavy. They are an affordably priced clothing store with several locations in New York City. I, however, purchased this sweater along with several other items from their brand new website. Click the link to check it out!

The shoes are something that I have been looking for for a while. I found similar ones from very high end brand that were well out of my price range. I asked Tony to look for some leopard print loafers for my Christmas present and he got me these lovelies from Steve Madden and I could not be more pleased.

I wish everyone the happiest of holidays! And if you are off from school or work I wish you a relaxing and enjoyable break! Missed you all

Que veux-tu?

shirt: target
shorts: forever 21
belt: forever 21
shoes: forever 21
sunglasses: pac sun

It was all rainy and sad outside today, so I decided to post these pictures from last week when it was all nice and gorgeous out. I went into target with the intention of buying socks and came out with this top, which is so incredibly typical of me.
In other news, I recently purchased a suit from Ann Taylor for job interviews and the fall career fair and such. For those of you who are small and have trouble finding business attire that fits you, Ann Taylor is your place. The suit fits great and they have an outstanding petite section. It was very difficult to not purchase one of everything... in every color. I will be featuring this suit very soon on here, so I am very excited about that.

happiness hit her like a train on a track

So if you're like me, you have more t-shirts than you could possibly have a need for. Most of them are worn to bed or to the gym, but there are those few that you know in your heart could be fabulous if worn correctly. I put this together this morning and I am very pleased with how this outfit turned out.
shirt: gift from my sister ( she sure is nice!)
skirt: pac sun
shoes: forever21

Printed on this t-shirt is Vesuvius by Andy Warhol. This particular t-shirt was actually purchased by my sister in Pompeii. However, there are many t-shirts out there with Warhol prints on them so if you want one similar to this, it shouldn't be too hard to find. Just as an FYI, even though you can't really see it in the pictures, my hair is in a messy fishtail side braid. Please do let me know if you have any success styling your own t-shirts!

love is all you need

shirt: Ann Taylor
shorts/belt: H&M
shoes: charlotte russe

This shirt was purchased while I was helping my mother pick out an outfit for my sister's college graduation. I saw it while my mom was trying things on and decided to see how it looked on me. I loved it and bought it. It was slightly more expensive then the things I normally buy (because I'm a cheapo, but I prefer the word frugal) but it was so nice it was worth it. The shorts were bought on my recent trip to H&M and I am just loving the high-waisted shorts look. I also like that they came with a really cute belt! I've had the shoes for a really long time because I think that everyone needs a pair of black flats to fall back on. They have a cool woven detail on the front so they are not totally plain.

Today, I had a meeting with the professor that I am doing research with. So basically, I wanted to look slightly more professional without being too dressed up. Also I couldn't be too daring or trendy because that would be inappropriate. Hope you all enjoyed this look!

Happy Thursday! (its almost Friday!!! Yay!)

living reflections from a dream

shirt: forever21
shorts: delia's
shoes: forever21
headband: pac sun
necklace: gift from my lovely sister

After enjoying a wonderful meal with Tony at a local pizzeria, I paid the bill and got up to leave. As I reached the door, I noticed a table of 6 older women staring at me. I paused and looked down to see if I got pizza sauce on my shirt. After seeing no obvious blemish I became quite perplexed. Confused, I smiled at them and turned to leave. As I turned, I heard one woman not-so-discreetly mutter to the woman next to her, "My gosh, could you get any skinnier?" I turned around and saw the other woman shaking her head judgmentally. I heard other whispers from the other women which I couldn't quite make out, but I did pick up words like "anorexic". As I exited the pizzeria and walked down the street, I was absolutely flabbergasted by these comments. I mean, they had just sat three tables away while I stuffed my mouth full of pizza, how could they possibly believe that I was anorexic?

I am very proud of my body and I take very good care of myself and my health. However, when I was younger I was embarrassed that the other girls my age had much more shapely figures then I did. Now that I am in college, I have come to terms with what I was born with, but comments that imply that there is something wrong with me still bother me somewhat.

Sorry for the rant, but it was on my mind. In this outfit of the day I am introducing my favorite shorts. =)
